this post is a sequel to the accessible post i started. For all of us that have a cell provider that isn't offering talks just yet, we should send mass emails and phone calls to our providers. This may get them on the ball. Let them know there competetors vorizon and singular are already making it available. Maybe this will get them on the ball and it will be available for everyone at an affordable price. I have us cellular and have already emailed them and called. We zoners will have to stick together and get them going on this matter. lol! smile-angel

That's a really good idea. I really hope Verizon makes one soon.

yeah, krisme, verizon does offer it. You will have to call them and they will explain it to you. Sorry if I spelled it wrong in my post. smile-angel

Lol...I think it's crucial that all providers offer accessibility to us blindies. Caitlin

yup a good idea indeed.

No, Verizon doesn't quite offer it. They have two semi-accessible phones, but neither of them come remotely close to TalkX. As it stands though, the software in CDMA phones is usually Bru, instead of Simbion, which the GSM models are running, and there are so many license issues for Bru that nobody has been able to develop a screen reader for it, because not many people know the code!
This doesn't mean I'll be getting rid of Verizon any time soon, however, because they still have the most stable coverage in the U.S.

Kragiel, Hmmmm, I called verizon the other day and they said they had the talks program. they transferred me to a different department. When I called I told them I heard they were offering the talks program for it's blind individuals. She said yes they were and transferred me to another department to ask them the questions i had. I didn't have a chance to stay on the line. I had something to do. But you may want to call them again and ask them about this. Smile-angel

Kragiel, if you find out anything about this, please let us know. I will call them tomorrow and fill everyone on on this matter. However, we should all still call our providers. I know many people that are using us cellular, and t-mobile that would like to have this offered to them. I'm sure we all would benefit from this. So come on guys and send the mas emails and let the phone calls pour in to theese and any other providers you may have. Smile angel-

I didn't know Verizon had Talx now. But I didn't know they didn't either. Lol. So if anyoen finds anything about this I'd be interested to know, just out of curiosity.

well, all this could not happen in malaysia. no matter how unite we are, but the result will be the same like now. they will think that blindies are not someone who can afford for all this. and they will think that this is not some thing worth for it. sigh!

anyway, i really hope that all the blindies can unite together for every thing. unity is a key of success. we might not change the situation, but at least our feeling is something with power. and from there, we can change some of the thing. i strongly believe that. cheers.
